Recapping Quad-A 2015

WireMasters was an exhibitor last week in our backyard of Nashville, TN at the 2015 Army Aviation Mission Solutions Summit (Quad-A). Over 200 representatives from 22 countries attended the show, which made for a tremendous networking event for industry professionals. The most rewarding experience about this particular show is getting to personally meet a number of military personnel that are currently serving or have previously served to fight and defend our country’s freedom. Among the heroes that we met was Major General Carl H. McNair, Jr.

General McNair’s lists of accomplishments reflect his years of outstanding service to the US Army. Graduating from the U.S. Military Academy in 1955, General McNair holds degrees in Aerospace Engineering and Public Administration. As an infantry company commander in the 1st Cavalry Division in Korea, he later went on and commanded aviation units in Vietnam, commanded the Aviation Brigade at Fort Rucker from 1974 to 1975, as well as serving as general for the U.S. Army Aviation Center from 1980 to 1983. While in Vietnam, he logged over 1,600 hours of flying time in combat as Commander of the 121st Assault Helicopter Company, S3 of the 164th Combat Aviation Group and later, as Commander of the 145th Combat Aviation Battalion.

These prestigious roles of leadership helped him have a great impact on Military Aviation. His list of medals, badges, and honors include, Parachutist, Master Army Aviator badges, Ranger Tab, Distinguished Service Medal, the Legion of Merit with two Oak Leaf Clusters, the Distinguished Flying Cross with three Oak Leaf Clusters, the Bronze Star Medal with V Device with Oak Leaf Cluster, and a variety of additional air medals. Major General McNair retired from active service after 32 years, and in 2004 was inducted into the Army Aviation Hall of Fame.

Major General Carl H. McNair, Jr. is a living legend and hero to the US Military and our country. Throughout his career as a soldier and citizen, he has accomplished a great deal.  It was with great honor and pride we had the opportunity to meet General McNair. The WireMasters family thanks General McNair and all of our US Military for their service to our country. God Bless!

Major General Carl McNair Jr.
